The DVA Process

Here's how veterans can access pedorthic services through DVA.

Get a Referral

Ask your treating GP or specialist for a referral to Walk Easy Pedorthics. They can use our DVA referral form or provide a standard referral letter.

Contact Walk Easy

Call 02 6766 3153 to book your appointment. Have your DVA card (Gold or White) ready. We'll confirm your entitlements.

Prior Approval (if required)

Some items require prior approval from DVA via a D904 form. We handle the paperwork and submit the application on your behalf.

Assessment Appointment

Attend your appointment at our Tamworth or Newcastle clinic. We'll assess your needs and recommend the most appropriate solution.

Manufacture

Once approved, we manufacture your footwear or orthoses. Custom items typically take 2-6 weeks depending on complexity.

Fitting & Follow-up

Final fitting to ensure proper fit. We provide wearing-in guidelines and arrange a follow-up appointment. No out-of-pocket costs for eligible items.

Veteran Entitlements

Veterans with a Gold or White Card are entitled to receive assistance with footwear and orthoses.

DVA Card Types

Gold Card holders have full coverage. White Card holders are covered for accepted disabilities.
